Wow just wow

I woke up again to a shocking email. I won another giveaway! Riona over at Oubliette has a PIF giveaway every month and I won this months. I'm so excited. I'm thankful for winning each of these giveaways considering I didn't have a great day a couple of days ago. I found out my neighbor passed awhile in his sleep during the night. It kinda hit me hard I can't really figure out why exactly except I've know this guy my entire life. I remember growing up always have to go across the street to show them my Halloween costume before I would go trick or treating. I remember making them Christmas present as a kid and making a May Day basket every year. I know he's in a much better place and he died the best way you can I guess. He fell asleep in his favorite chair and just didn't wake up. Well anyways enough tears.

When I got the mail today I found a package from a SanMan friend. She sent me some wonderful charms. I can't wait to use some of them!!!

Well i'm going to go stitch on something to add to my giveaway. I have two things ready to be 'finished' finished. But I want to finish them all at the same time. Happy stitching!

~Halloween Giveaway~

I decided i'd post my giveaway now and give you all til the 20th to enter. That should give me enough time to get it mailed out and for the winners to receive it by Halloween.

This giveaway i'm giving away not one but two different packages. Here will be 1st prize...

And here is the second prize...

Of course in each one a cute stitchy item will be placed. That will have to be a surprise. And i'll most likely find some more cute things between then and now that might get thrown in.

Now how to enter:

1 entry - Post a comment on this post
2 entries - Post about my giveaway on your blog (don't forget to tell me when you do)
3 entries - tell me your favorite Halloween costume growing up and why it was your favorite

Good Luck to you all!

Got the camera back!

As you can see I got the camera back. Yay! I've felt lost without it. I've taken pics of some of the things I've done but still can't share everything. I am heading to the post office tomorrow. I have a lot of things to be shipped out. As soon as I know people have received I will share with you. So now onto what I can share.

As I mentioned in an earlier post I picked up a knitting loom. I'm having fun with it so far. I guess I messed up on my first attempt. It got way too tight and I couldn't move to the next row. So i'm trying again and attempting not to pull it so tight. So far so good.

I am a member of the Sanman message board and they are doing a really cute sock swap. I received mine the other day aren't they just adorable? My swap partner also sent me a couple cute patterns that she was allowed to share with me. (The ones to my swap partner are going out tomorrow. I haven't had a chance to get to the post office in time.)

And lastly here is my TUSAL jar. It would have been on time but the camera on my phone doesn't take the greatest of pictures and I can never keep a signal long enough in this house to email it to myself.

Well I think thats enough for me tonight. I'm off to stitch something special. Tomorrow i'll be posting my Halloween giveaway.

Sad but new stash!

I'm so upset. I went into that new (to me, I've been there a couple times now) store that carried a bunch of stitching things and she has decided to get rid of it all! She has stopped carrying all her stitching supplies. *cries* But on the happier side everything she had left was 40% off! So I picked up a few patterns.

But now i'm going to have to go to the meanie lady's store or just order my stuff online. *cries some more* I did get some other stash while I was in town yesterday too but i'm not going to show it yet. Some is for some swaps and i'm going to have a Halloween giveaway so keep an eye out.

On other news after I posted yesterday I noticed that Nemo wasn't actually finished! I missed backstitching on his front fin. So here he is finished I swear. LOL

Here is the blackwork kitty. I think he turned out awesome. I didn't do everything the chart had on it but I love how it looks like it is right now. I think I need to go back through and fill in the outside edges a little bit more though.

And after the kitty was finished I made this one.

Yesterday after I got home I started stitching some Halloween things finally! Yay me for finally doing something 'in season'.

Happy Stitching!

Nemo & Christmas cat

I tried to work on my Halloween project. I got my fabric all counted out and set up in my frame... and then I just sat there staring at it. I couldn't seem to start it so I set it aside and finished Nemo.

I changed some of the colors for the backstitching because what the kit said just didn't show up enough. So after finishing Nemo I still couldn't seem to start my Halloween stitch so I decided i'd try another Christmas ornie and then try the Halloween one again. I have seen some really pretty blackwork designs and found a cat to try out. To make him Christmas i'm making him red/green instead of black. And I think i'll put a bow around his neck with ribbon or put a little bell. Not sure yet which. But here is what I've gotten done so far. I'm still trying to decide if i'll have enough or too much green vs red.

Giveaway 2

Check out my side bar for the 31 days of Halloween giveaway!

Giveaway 1

Jennifer over at CONFESSIONS OF A SERIAL STARTER is having a really nice surprise giveaway for her followers. Check it out, even if you aren't a follower.

A little stitching update.

Yesterday I managed to get some t.v. time in and some stitching time! I worked for awhile on Nemo. Here he is so far...

I got a little tired of working on him. So yesterday while I was fiddling away on the internet I found some cute free patterns. I believe I found this one on about.com. It was cute and a fast stitch (even using metallic threads). It was suppose to be stitched with a gold color but I switched it for silver metallic color.

Well since today is October 1st i'm pulling out my Halloween stitch and working on that today. Hopefully I can get a good chunk done today.

Miserable

Sadly i'm sitting here in misery. Day before yesterday John and I rearranged the bedroom and my allergies went insane! So I delt with the sneezing runny eyes all day. Then yesterday we go into town to do errands and things and i'm still going crazy with they watery eyes and sneezing. So when we stopped to get gas in the truck, I got a claritin d and we ended up just coming home without doing anything. I preceded to crawl into bed and knocked out til like 9. Then I woke up and read some of my book and then went right back to sleep. Today I wake up and I feel better and worse. It's officially a cold and not allergies. But I have to suck it up and do my errands today. At least I can somewhat breathe!

Anyways enough about me being sick. A few days ago I made a trip to JoAnn's and picked up a bunch of things. Sadly all I have right now is my cell phone camera. Mom took her camera to Texas. I should have it back in a week or so. So since I have no signal to send the picture I took with my phone i'll just have to tell you what I picked up. I got some new fabric to stitch on, 2 whites and a light green to do my Halloween project I finally decided on. Which I'm planning to start on the 1st, but I have to finish Nemo first. Then I got the floss for my Halloween project, some really cute reindeer buttons. I also picked up a round knitting loom. I'm going to take a stab at making a scarf for someone for Christmas. I got some dark blue yarn for the scarf and a container to put the ball of yarn in. I picked up a loom knitting book from the library and now I just need to sit down and see if I can figure out how to do it. I've always wanted to learn to knit but haven't gotten around to it. One of my errands to do today is to go back to JoAnn's and pick up a few more things that I forgot last time to use in finishing my Christmas ornaments.

Well i'm off
have a nice day

Love scarf finish

Well here is the scarf one I finished. I think it's really cute. For some odd reason I couldn't seem to do french knots the other day and beads just didn't look right for their eyes. So I did what I use to do when I was younger. I just made a knot. I'm not super happy with how they turned out but it works. Topcho asked me the other day how many Christmas ornaments this makes.... I think 15. Hmmm maybe it's about time I start turning some of them into finished finishes. :)

A couple more ornaments!

I would prolly of had a few more done but I got the new Kingdom Hearts game for the psp and have been playing that, and playing some world of warcraft.I have managed to fit in a little bit of stitching time while re-watching old seasons of Desperate Housewives.

Anyways here is the first one...

This was really quick and fun. It had a new stitch to me an Algerian eye I believe it's called. I added some beads for ornaments. Then I made this ornament...

I stitched it together like a biscornu but i'm not pulling it together in the middle. This is done on some hand dyed aida that I did a long time ago when I was going to do a Greek statue for John's family.

And this is the one i'm working on slowly right now...

This picture is maily so you can see the 'love' in the scarves. I think it's so cute!

Well i'm off to relax in front of the t.v. (after I play a bit of Kingdom Hearts first) I just rented a ton of movies to watch. So looks like i'll be stitching this week! I have finally picked some Halloween things i'd like to stitch. One is going to be a gift for someone. So if I don't show you anything for awhile you know what i'm working on. :)
