Just a quick note
Well i'm back from New York. I'm so tired. I slept for like 12 hours last night. Felt so good to be back in my bed. I didn't work on any stitching at all while I was gone. I started to but just ended up reading my books instead. I finished the sons of destiny series, thinking about rereading and catching up on the in death series now. Well off to unpack and then maybe relax and actually do some stitching. Will show some pics from our trip later. Hope everyone had a great Easter!

All packed and ready to go
(warning: indecent picture farther down in post)
Well all packed and pretty much ready for New York! So not looking forward to the 3am wake up call! I hate mornings!!! Lol I got a couple projects to work on while i'm there, since now they are calling for rain. :( I've got the bracelets to work on...

Finish working on "the dog did it"...

And my new one (a present for John's dad) its a little inappropriate but John assures me it's one he will really like...

Also I managed to find L... here he is completed.

Well here is what I've been mostly working on.

It was a lot of fun to make. I'm looking forward to making more for some friends. Also I have been working on "the dog did it" but I screwed up and used the wrong grey in one part. So i'm frustrated and haven't taken it out yet.

I've been trying to think of what project I want to take with me to work on while i'm in New York. Nothing too hard and nothing too special in case it gets dirty or ruined.
Dad, John, and I went antiquing the other day. We didn't find much of anything sadly. But I did find a really cute recipe box. I know its not an antique in any way but its still really cute!

Also I've made myself a couple of new necklaces. And one for John, that somewhat matches one of mine. Other than that I've been mainly reading. My mom suggest this series call the Sons of Destiny. Man are they really good! If your into the mystical magical and somewhat (hot & heavy) romance stuff. It's really interesting how much just little details entwine between all the books. I just love things like that. I'm on the 5th book of eight. Already half way through it and I just started it a couple nights ago. They are written by Jean Johnson. Here is some info:
The Sons of Destiny...a romantic tale of magic, superstition, and a love that transcends dimensions.
Eight brothers, born in four sets of twins, two years apart to the day-they fulfill the Curse of Eight Prophecy. To avoid tempting their destiny, the brothers are exiled to Nightfall Island, a land where women are strictly forbidden. But, when the youngest of the mage-brothers rescues a woman from another universe, their world is altered forever.
and their curse:
Song of the Sons of Destiny
The Eldest Son shall bear this weight:
If ever true love he should feel
Disaster shall come at her heel
And Katan will fail to aid
When Sword in sheath is claimed by Maid
The Second Son shall know this fate:
He who hunts is not alone
When claw would strike and cut to bone
A chain of Silk shall bind his hand
So Wolf is caught in marriage-band
The Third of Sons shall meet his match:
Strong of will and strong of mind
You seek she who is your kind
Set your trap and be your fate
When Lady is the Master’s mate
The Fourth of Sons shall find his catch:
The purest note shall turn to sour
And weep in silence for the hour
But listen to the lonely Heart
And Song shall bind the two apart
The Fifth Son shall seek the sign:
Prowl the woods and through the trees
Before you in the woods she flees
Catch her quick and hold her fast
The Cat will find his Home at last
The Sixth Son shall draw the line:
Shun the day and rule the night
Your reign’s end shall come at light
When Dawn steals into your hall
Bride of Storm shall be your fall
The Seventh Son shall he decree:
Burning bright and searing hot
You shall seek that which is not
Mastered by desire’s name
Water shall control the Flame
The Eighth Son shall set them free:
Act in Hope and act in love
Draw down your powers from above
Set your Brothers to their call
When Mage has wed, you will be all.
‘Song of the Sons of Destiny’
The Seer Draganna
Lol well anyway thats enough of me rambling. Hope everyone is enjoying their day!

TUSAL
Well I almost forgot that today was the TUSAL. Thanks Amy! I really haven't done too much stitching. I did manage to finish L... but now I can't seem to remember where I put him. So i'll post the finished picture of him later. Also I finished a bit more on "The Dog did it". Other than that I have been doing some other crafty things for Easter prezzies so I can't show you them yet! So the countdown to New York begins. Two weeks today. I can't wait while John doesn't even want to think about it. (he doesn't want to fly) Well hope you all get some stitching time in today. And if your part of the TUSAL don't forget to post your picture! :)

Another new idea
Lately I can't seem to just get anything done. I keep getting ideas for other things and I have to try them out! We go to this discount store out on a farm here. They have some outdated stuff thats actually still really good. This one isle in the place is freaking all candy! Drives me nuts that my dad always has to dig around even though he's diabetic and shouldn't be eating any of it. So I always sit and fight with myself not to pick out candy bars! But the last time they had a huge box of mints. I remember seeing people make things out of Altoids boxes, and thought to myself these would make cute pill boxes for one to carry in their purse or even reuse them as mint boxes. So I grabbed a couple. I got a blue, green, red, and an orange one. So last night I decided to see if I could figure out how to do this. I was up til 1am trying to get it finished. Sometimes I can't stand going to bed til something is done! I don't think it turned out too badly either. I'm going to give it to my mom today when we meet her for lunch in a couple hours. Hopefully she can use it.

On another note... we are heading to New York on the 29th to spend Easter with John's family. I'm so excited! I made him promise we could go back to Times Square and this time go to Central Park and see the Statue of Liberty since last couple times I visited him (before he moved here) we didn't get to go, and my pictures got deleted of Time Square. Also I looked into museums we could go to. I've decided the Museum of Natural History. I'm so excited.... wait I already said that. LOL. His mom also wants me to go to church with her. John's family is Greek. So this should be fun I've never been to a Greek Orthodox Church. I've got to go shopping for a black skirt today while we are in town. Wish me luck!
Edit 7:10 p.m. My mom absolutely loved the little box! She dumped her pills out of the bottle she had them in as soon as I gave it to her.

Painting & quilting
Well I've kinda been taking a small break from stitching. I did finish February's Little heart Sal but haven't started on March's yet.
Mainly I've been cutting my squares to work on my quilt.

But I couldn't help myself and I did start that "the dog did it" kit that I picked up.
Also I get these urges to paint. I've painted a lot of cute things for people. A sled with a snowman on it (I need to do one of these for myself!) a LOVE string and I just recently painted this for my bf. He just loves cats.

On an L note... I can't seem to finish filling in his shirt. It just doesn't look right to me. It's too light I think. Some of the shading in him just keeps throwing me off. As soon as I get that section done it looks right but I just don't know about this last section.

Feel like I haven't done anything.
(Picture heavy post) Ever get that feeling like you just haven't really worked on anything you ment to work on but you really have? I've gotten a big chunk done on L. All thats left is to fill in his shirt.

I also found, off of someone else's blog a German lady named Sylvia that is doing a Sal called My Little Heart. I just found it so cute I had to start it. I got two different metallic reds. It's kind of hard to see the difference between them tho so i'm a little upset about that but its turning out cute so far. (Check out her blog at Sylvia's) I even picked up a new aida color called light oatmeal. I'm really liking it.

Also going on this week my best friend that moved to Florida is here visiting til Wednesday. So I've been trying to spend time with her as much as I can since we only get to see each other about once a year now. Yesterday we went out for lunch and did some shopping. She needed some buttons for a shirt so we went to JoAnn's and of course I bought a bunch of stuff I shouldn't of. I've been wanting to make some necklaces again so I got three different charms...

and some beads...

a new kit that I just thought was too cute to pass up for $4

and I found this cute fabric in the remnants. Thought it would make a cute baby girl quilt at some time.

I was upset when I got home and saw that it's only letters F, B, C, H. I thought it had the whole alphabet. *sighs*
I also found some cute buttons (they were all 50% off!) for my quilt. I'm going to put them in the middle of some of the squares so I won't have to worry about trying to sew down the middle of the quilt. My mom told me buttons would make it easier to hold the quilt together more.

So after JoAnn's we went around to a few other stores looking for a new shirt for her to wear. I finally got a new pair of shoes, a couple new tank tops, a lucky bamboo plant, and I found a really cute Disney puzzle. After that we came back to my place and we decided to try and make these crape paper roses that I found on clearance at a Wal-mart. That was fun. I've decided i'm not a huge fan of florist tape. It's sticky on everything but itself!

But it did turn out really cute! Well I think i've posted enough of my ramblings. Hope you all having good progress on whatever your working on.

Finished Purse!!!
I've had it done for a couple days now. I test drove it the other day to see how it worked and felt... it needs a bit more done to do to satisfy me. My mom and I are only disappointed in the back. We had some trouble with the zipper area. But then again neither one of us has ever done anything like this. My mom sews quilts and thats about it.

I haven't gotten to much stitched on L lately. I've been working on getting my character in WoW to lvl 80. Which I did so i'm going to work on L some today while I watch some of my millions of TV shows that are piling up on my DVR. My friend Emily keeps yelling at me to finish Dollhouse because I got her watching it and then I've just been too busy to watch the last two freaking episodes. And i'm so excited she will be here in a couple days!!! I miss her. She moved to FL a couple years ago so I don't get to see her on a daily basis like we use to. Now i'm lucky for a yearly visit :( So i'm super excited!!!
On another crafty note I picked up some interesting clearance jewelery thing at the store. I thought it looked cool so I grabbed what they had left. I think i'm going to try and make one today hopefully it will look cool and wont be too much trouble for me. :D

I also found these make your own buttons. I thought it would be cool to put a cross stitch in them and then donate them to the local museum that my dad volunteers at. They have crafty stuff in their little store. I'm not too sure if it will work I put some of the fabric in them and it fit but ill have to see if it will still fit after there are stitches on the fabric.

L and updates
Well it seems everyone has been sick this past week. We went to the movies with mom like planned and then we all got sick. Mom and her boyfriend with head colds, and I was having dizzy spells like crazy. So we cancelled our Monday night purse session, and planned on Wednesday. Then we got hit with the snow. So we cancelled Wednesday also. But this week my mom took off for a long needed break from work. So we are going to work on it Thursday all day! So it should be finished!!!! Can't wait for that. My mom has already claimed my purse that i'm wearing right now once my other one is finished.
So since i've been sick I haven't really been able to get a lot of stitching done. But here is my L from Death Note so far.
The last time I posted I was saying how depressing working on L is. Since he's all browns, peach, and grey. So I also started another Soda pattern. Haven't gotten too far along on it but here is what its suppose to look like.
Well I guess thats enough rambling for me. I will post my pics of the purse soon. Also hope everyone has a Happy Valentines!

Purse & Greek Update
Well first off the Greek flag arrived today in NY and they loved it. So i'm happy about that. Second I went to moms again and worked on my purse. It's coming along nicely. Not too much left to do but put it all together really. Everyone keeps saying "your not done yet?" LoL my mom's boyfriend told her today man with as much as she is spending in gas to come over she could of bought 10 purses. My mom responded with you know what them commercials say "time spent with a mother. Priceless!" I thought that was cute. But we are going to see a movie on sat can't wait. And then Monday work on the purse again. My mom has to take pictures to show some of her co-workers because she keeps bragging about the purse. So as soon as she takes them ill post pictures on here of it. On other stitching news I've gotten just a bit done on L. His colors are so drab (mainly browns and grays) they are making me depressed. So i'm moving along slowly with him. Also i'm trying to create a pattern but i'm having issues doing the words that I want in a stitching font I really like. Awhile ago on one of the forums i'm on someone posted a cute poem about starting new projects and I mentioned that it would be cute stitched up. So thats what i'm trying to do. I really just need to break down and buy PC stitch pro. I've got a great border picked out and i'm going to use variegated purple and metallic purple threads. And i'm going to put purple beads in it also. LoL I don't like purple do I? Well I think I've rambled enough tonight.
