Giveaway 2

Check out my side bar for the 31 days of Halloween giveaway!

Giveaway 1

Jennifer over at CONFESSIONS OF A SERIAL STARTER is having a really nice surprise giveaway for her followers. Check it out, even if you aren't a follower.

A little stitching update.

Yesterday I managed to get some t.v. time in and some stitching time! I worked for awhile on Nemo. Here he is so far...

I got a little tired of working on him. So yesterday while I was fiddling away on the internet I found some cute free patterns. I believe I found this one on about.com. It was cute and a fast stitch (even using metallic threads). It was suppose to be stitched with a gold color but I switched it for silver metallic color.

Well since today is October 1st i'm pulling out my Halloween stitch and working on that today. Hopefully I can get a good chunk done today.

Miserable

Sadly i'm sitting here in misery. Day before yesterday John and I rearranged the bedroom and my allergies went insane! So I delt with the sneezing runny eyes all day. Then yesterday we go into town to do errands and things and i'm still going crazy with they watery eyes and sneezing. So when we stopped to get gas in the truck, I got a claritin d and we ended up just coming home without doing anything. I preceded to crawl into bed and knocked out til like 9. Then I woke up and read some of my book and then went right back to sleep. Today I wake up and I feel better and worse. It's officially a cold and not allergies. But I have to suck it up and do my errands today. At least I can somewhat breathe!

Anyways enough about me being sick. A few days ago I made a trip to JoAnn's and picked up a bunch of things. Sadly all I have right now is my cell phone camera. Mom took her camera to Texas. I should have it back in a week or so. So since I have no signal to send the picture I took with my phone i'll just have to tell you what I picked up. I got some new fabric to stitch on, 2 whites and a light green to do my Halloween project I finally decided on. Which I'm planning to start on the 1st, but I have to finish Nemo first. Then I got the floss for my Halloween project, some really cute reindeer buttons. I also picked up a round knitting loom. I'm going to take a stab at making a scarf for someone for Christmas. I got some dark blue yarn for the scarf and a container to put the ball of yarn in. I picked up a loom knitting book from the library and now I just need to sit down and see if I can figure out how to do it. I've always wanted to learn to knit but haven't gotten around to it. One of my errands to do today is to go back to JoAnn's and pick up a few more things that I forgot last time to use in finishing my Christmas ornaments.

Well i'm off
have a nice day

Love scarf finish

Well here is the scarf one I finished. I think it's really cute. For some odd reason I couldn't seem to do french knots the other day and beads just didn't look right for their eyes. So I did what I use to do when I was younger. I just made a knot. I'm not super happy with how they turned out but it works. Topcho asked me the other day how many Christmas ornaments this makes.... I think 15. Hmmm maybe it's about time I start turning some of them into finished finishes. :)

A couple more ornaments!

I would prolly of had a few more done but I got the new Kingdom Hearts game for the psp and have been playing that, and playing some world of warcraft.I have managed to fit in a little bit of stitching time while re-watching old seasons of Desperate Housewives.

Anyways here is the first one...

This was really quick and fun. It had a new stitch to me an Algerian eye I believe it's called. I added some beads for ornaments. Then I made this ornament...

I stitched it together like a biscornu but i'm not pulling it together in the middle. This is done on some hand dyed aida that I did a long time ago when I was going to do a Greek statue for John's family.

And this is the one i'm working on slowly right now...

This picture is maily so you can see the 'love' in the scarves. I think it's so cute!

Well i'm off to relax in front of the t.v. (after I play a bit of Kingdom Hearts first) I just rented a ton of movies to watch. So looks like i'll be stitching this week! I have finally picked some Halloween things i'd like to stitch. One is going to be a gift for someone. So if I don't show you anything for awhile you know what i'm working on. :)

TUSAL & another ornament

Well it's that time of the month again! TUSAL!!! Here is my updated jar. A lot of greens, reds, and yellows from doing the Christmas ornaments.

I have kinda been in a slump and haven't been stitching too much. I think i'm just getting so frustrated with trying to use the linen I got. I'm just honestly not liking it so far. Can anyone give me any tips for stitching on it? I think I just pull too tight and I keep screwing up my counting. It hasn't helped that I've been having some killer headaches this past week either. I think it's because of the weather.

I have gotten one ornament finished that I had started before I got the linen. The words are done by Follow the Leader Designs, but I added the buttons and the border. On the chart they had Christmas in red but I made it all green.

Does anyone know of any cute Christmas needle rolls? I'd like to try and make one. They look like they could be fun.

On a personal note, please send prayers to John's mom. She is having issues with her breast cancer again. And could really use some healing thoughts sent her way. Thank you! Hopefully we will be able to go visit her for Halloween. Now i'm off to the library to return some books & movies.

Happy stitching!

No luck.

Sadly no luck yesterday finding the Christmas JCS mag. :( Hopefully I can get it soon! I did pick up a few things yesterday though.

Some new paper

Some shiny & glittery paper!

Some buttons

I added a button to this one as soon as I got home

And I know I said I wasn't going to assign who gets what ornament but I just couldn't help it when I saw this! Emily will just have to know which one she's getting. *wink*

Off to stitch and listen to an audiobook I think.

Stitching

I know I said I was going to take a break from stitching Christmas ornaments but I just can't help myself. I am loving stitching these fast little Christmas designs. My dad gave me an idea to try and I wasn't too sure how it was going to work out but I think it turned out great! Here is a pic.

I might make another one but it took awhile to do this one. If I do I might make different designs on each side.

The other ornament I finished yesterday was from Little House Needleworks. I really do love their patterns. I had to change a couple colors because I didn't have what was called for. But it still looks pretty.

A couple days ago I saw on 123stitch they had some small grab bags of 28/32 count linen. Just small 6x6 pieces. I have never stitch on anything other than adia. I know I know how can I call myself a stitcher. I have never tried this over 2 a lot of you talk about and I want to now. So I got two of the grab bags.

There are some really pretty fabrics and I can't wait to try them out.

Well i'm off to do laundry. Yay what fun (huge sarcasm). Hopefully I can pick up the new JCS mag today so I can get some more ideas for Christmas ornaments. LOL I swear i'm going to try and make one Halloween stitch this month!!!!

Happy Stitching!

Rust and Dust (lots of pics)

Busy Busy weekend here. I would of posted this yesterday but I was so tired! This weekend was the Rust and Dust days up at the Park. Which is just pretty much a tractor show.

On Saturday John and I helped volunteer. John got stuck up at the barn selling pop, water, coffee, and ice tea. I got put down by the tractor pulls selling popcorn, ice cream, and drinks. I love working in the popcorn truck. It use to sit in our yard and looked like crap. My dad donated it to the park and they fixed it up really nice. It's a 1923 Model T. Here is a picture of it from the outside (I forgot to take one on Saturday so this picture is actually from the 4th of July.)

And here is the inside. It's tiny and it gets really hot inside. They just added some vents into the top of the truck and it helped a lot!

I ended up going through 8 coffee cans full of kernels. That's a lot of bags of popcorn!

Dad did some branding of shingles for souvenirs. I think they look cool.

There was also a thrasher which is fun to watch but not too good to get close to if you have asthma!

There were a bunch of vendors and a blacksmith...

Horse plowing...

and a tractor ride. John and I got a chance to go on one of the last rides for the day.

Then John and I came home and crashed until 8pm when we then got up and went to my mom's for a bonfire. I just love bonfires. Hot dogs and s'mores on the fire! Yummy!!! It was Johns first ever bonfire and he had fun.

We were suppose to help at the park again on Saturday but I felt like crap. That popcorn machine beat the crap out of my arms (it gets stuck and you have to fight with it) and I was in a lot of pain. So John and I rested all day Sunday.

Yesterday we went into town and John spent his birthday money on some protein shakes and some PSP games. I went into JoAnn's and pick up some more floss for my Christmas ornaments and got the Halloween JCS magazine. Think I might take a break from Christmas ornaments and do a couple Halloween ones this month to hang up. I'd really like to get a little tree to hang my stitched ornaments on. Well i'm off to go watch some TV and try to stitch. My arms still hurt a little bit.

Yesterday

So yesterday was John's birthday. He woke up to baklava from his uncle. Yummy!!!

And presents from me. I got him a new work out bar and some of that new Wonka candy. For dinner he picked hamburgers and salad. And instead of a cake he wanted brownies. This boy is obsessed with brownies. So I made do... a bit of wax got on the brownies by the time I lit all 24 candles.

And here are the brownies just seconds later. LOL

Yesterday I also got a couple ornaments stitched up. One I have stitched into a biscornu but forgot to take the picture.

I just want to say thanks to everyone who leaves me comments. I always love to read what you think about my projects.
