Stitching

I know I said I was going to take a break from stitching Christmas ornaments but I just can't help myself. I am loving stitching these fast little Christmas designs. My dad gave me an idea to try and I wasn't too sure how it was going to work out but I think it turned out great! Here is a pic.

I might make another one but it took awhile to do this one. If I do I might make different designs on each side.

The other ornament I finished yesterday was from Little House Needleworks. I really do love their patterns. I had to change a couple colors because I didn't have what was called for. But it still looks pretty.

A couple days ago I saw on 123stitch they had some small grab bags of 28/32 count linen. Just small 6x6 pieces. I have never stitch on anything other than adia. I know I know how can I call myself a stitcher. I have never tried this over 2 a lot of you talk about and I want to now. So I got two of the grab bags.

There are some really pretty fabrics and I can't wait to try them out.

Well i'm off to do laundry. Yay what fun (huge sarcasm). Hopefully I can pick up the new JCS mag today so I can get some more ideas for Christmas ornaments. LOL I swear i'm going to try and make one Halloween stitch this month!!!!

Happy Stitching!

Rust and Dust (lots of pics)

Busy Busy weekend here. I would of posted this yesterday but I was so tired! This weekend was the Rust and Dust days up at the Park. Which is just pretty much a tractor show.

On Saturday John and I helped volunteer. John got stuck up at the barn selling pop, water, coffee, and ice tea. I got put down by the tractor pulls selling popcorn, ice cream, and drinks. I love working in the popcorn truck. It use to sit in our yard and looked like crap. My dad donated it to the park and they fixed it up really nice. It's a 1923 Model T. Here is a picture of it from the outside (I forgot to take one on Saturday so this picture is actually from the 4th of July.)

And here is the inside. It's tiny and it gets really hot inside. They just added some vents into the top of the truck and it helped a lot!

I ended up going through 8 coffee cans full of kernels. That's a lot of bags of popcorn!

Dad did some branding of shingles for souvenirs. I think they look cool.

There was also a thrasher which is fun to watch but not too good to get close to if you have asthma!

There were a bunch of vendors and a blacksmith...

Horse plowing...

and a tractor ride. John and I got a chance to go on one of the last rides for the day.

Then John and I came home and crashed until 8pm when we then got up and went to my mom's for a bonfire. I just love bonfires. Hot dogs and s'mores on the fire! Yummy!!! It was Johns first ever bonfire and he had fun.

We were suppose to help at the park again on Saturday but I felt like crap. That popcorn machine beat the crap out of my arms (it gets stuck and you have to fight with it) and I was in a lot of pain. So John and I rested all day Sunday.

Yesterday we went into town and John spent his birthday money on some protein shakes and some PSP games. I went into JoAnn's and pick up some more floss for my Christmas ornaments and got the Halloween JCS magazine. Think I might take a break from Christmas ornaments and do a couple Halloween ones this month to hang up. I'd really like to get a little tree to hang my stitched ornaments on. Well i'm off to go watch some TV and try to stitch. My arms still hurt a little bit.

Yesterday

So yesterday was John's birthday. He woke up to baklava from his uncle. Yummy!!!

And presents from me. I got him a new work out bar and some of that new Wonka candy. For dinner he picked hamburgers and salad. And instead of a cake he wanted brownies. This boy is obsessed with brownies. So I made do... a bit of wax got on the brownies by the time I lit all 24 candles.

And here are the brownies just seconds later. LOL

Yesterday I also got a couple ornaments stitched up. One I have stitched into a biscornu but forgot to take the picture.

I just want to say thanks to everyone who leaves me comments. I always love to read what you think about my projects.

More ornaments & etc.

I'm just having so much fun stitching up all these ornaments I'll most likely continue until Christmas.

Here is the penguin I posted last time designed by Paw Printings. I broke down and bought some more shiny threads since I couldn't find any of mine. But I'm glad I did I love how the border looks and I also found a cute candy cane stripe ribbon when I picked up the shiny threads.

Here is a design by Brittercup. I just love these cats!

This one is from Lizzie Kate. I added the arms he just seemed to be missing something then I was like duh some arms.

And this one is designed by Little House Needleworks. I have just fallen in love with this company. I have many of there designs on my "to do" list.

Yesterday I decided to take a stab at dyeing fabric with tea. I'm not too sure I really like the look of it. But i'm sure i'll use it at some point.

I also bought some Crystal Light really cheap marked way down cheap, but didn't like the flavor of it. Think it was cherry pomegranate. So I used some of my scraps and a couple packs to try dyeing with it. I think it turned out really pretty. I've got a couple packs left so i'm going to do this again for sure. It turned out a really pretty peachy pink to me, not as pink as the picture suggests.

Also John's little sister Natalia asked if I would make her an Ipod case like the one I showed you guys on the 9th. She told me her favorite color is Midnight Blue. That use to be my favorite at her age too. So this is the fabric that John and I picked for hers. I'm thinking I might make one for my mom too.

Happy Stitching!

Been quiet but have been stitching loudly!

First off the title... I haven't really felt like posting anything lately. I get up in the morning and read everyone's posts but then just don't feel like posting myself. Eleni (John's mom) has been asking what I've been working on. She tells me to hurry up and post so she can see my beautiful things.

So on the 10th was Emily's daughter's 13th birthday! I've known this kid since she was 4. They grow up so fast. So as her birthday prezzie I designed a pattern and stitched it up, painted a frame and now I have to get it mailed out.

I think it turned out really cute. So I've decided to share the pattern also.

I have also started stitching my ornaments I've gotten 4 1/2 stitched up so far. These two are from Lizzie Kate

This penguin is from Paw Printings. He's not completely done yet but I can't seem to find any of my shimmery floss to do the border I have in mind.

These two are designed by Daffycat. I found this pattern so cute I decided to do two of them and switch the red and green and I think they will be cute put back to back as an ornament.

And the 1/2 one is an idea my dad gave me so i'm trying that and hopefully it will turn out cute. It's plastic and i'm going to make it into a cube.

So there you have it. What I've been working on this past week. Hope you are all getting stitchy time in.

Today's projects

Edit: Deleted section

So to keep myself busy today I made an Ipod carrying case. I was hooked up to Thimbelina, from Freebies For Crafters. It took me three tries! I was getting so frustrated. The first one I messed up and put a part the wrong direction and didn't find out til I was almost finished... the second time I had forgotten to move my needle back to the middle. So my seams were too small and tore apart. But third time was a charm :) I think it turned out pretty good. This will definitely come with me to New York next month.

With my Ipod peaking out...

All closed up...

And of course tomorrow is the New Moon. So here is my Jar with all my bits.

Happy stitching!

New Stash!

So yesterday I went into town and bought some new stash to work on making Christmas ornaments for everyone this year as their presents. I have decided i'm going to just make a bunch and then let my family/friends pick. I think I might even do a couple extras to give away as presents to a couple readers!

So here is all my Christmas stash I bought! Scrapbook papers... wire... beads... buttons... felt... fabric... and of coarse some Christmas color floss!

A close up of the fabrics. I just love the Rudolph one!

And a couple days back I saw online a pattern/directions for making an Ipod case. So I got the fabric and i'm going to try and make it. (sorry its a bit blurry)

I have been working on the "Love" and it's almost all filled in on the red. But I've been playing Fable II today and haven't stitched on it much. Hopefully i'll put in a few more stitches tonight. So I can do the white and then sew it into a pillow and be done with another project.

Well hope everyone is having a great day!

Last night's stitching

So last night after posting my finish of Aang and Momo, I went in to the tv room to watch some TV and got to thinking what could I do with this project. I decided to just put some paper behind it and fray it. I think it turned out really cute. I now have it hanging right above my computer monitor.

So after that I wanted to stitch but really wasn't in the mood to fight with the ladybugs fabric. So I picked up the Love project I had started awhile back. Got quite a bit done.

Well i'm going to go sit and watch a bit of TV and work on Love til I have to get John out of bed and go do errands today.

Happy stitching!
