Breast Cancer pin

This is what I managed to work on yesterday once we finally got home had dinner and after I spent some time with John playing our mmo (massively multiplayer online). I changed the pattern of it just a little bit and i've only got a couple rows of white left to fill in. Now the question is... Should I backstitch? The pattern does not call for backstitch. But i'm just not certain it has enough pop as a pin. Decisions decisions.

Yay mail!

Don't you just love when you get things in the mail. I finally broke down and ordered a couple patterns online. Don't get me wrong I love shopping online but I really like to see what i'm buying in my hands first.

About a week ago we found out that John's mom has breast cancer. The doctor told her it would be alright. She could manage it with some pills and a little radiation. But in the past week it has gotten worse. Now he says she needs it operated on. So we might be heading back to New York for a couple weeks to be with her. She asked me a couple days ago to stitch her something to help her cope. So I found this pattern and thought it was really pretty.

I have found a couple other patterns i'm probably going to stitch for her too. One being a little pink ribbon pin she can wear.

Also when I ordered I just couldn't pass up a couple of Mill Hill bead & charm kits. I just love doing them! I thought they might make a really cute Christmas ornament or something to hang up during Christmas. Heaven forbid I ever have too much Christmas decorations!

Well off to do laundry today. Hope everyone has a great one!

Michigan finish & Pears?

Well here is my Michigan finish. I'm actually not too happy with it but for my first time trying something like this, I guess it's not too bad. Where I stitched it close is my problem. I might end up redoing it.

I just kept getting super frustrated yesterday. I was trying to work with some interfacing and it just wont stick to the fabric. I'm pretty sure I got the iron kind. It came with the directions.... but still it doesn't want to work. I've even tried both sides! Guess i'll just have to pray that in the end it will do its purpose even if it's not ironed.

Oh yea I mentioned Pears. About 10 years ago our poor pear tree fell down. But guess what? It's still growing!! I took a couple pictures because I just love the blossoms.

Hope everyone is enjoying their day!

Can anyone help?

Does anyone know who designed this pattern? Or what it's called? Any help would be grateful. Thanks!!!

A new stitching store.

I'm not quite sure how I found this site but i'm thankful I did. I was surfing around yesterday and I found a cross stitching shop in my town that I didn't know about! So I just had to go check it out yesterday. I ended up finding a ton of things I wanted to buy but settled on just a few.

The ladies that worked there were so nice!!! The owner even gave me these for free!

I can't remember what the thread is called, Krenic or something along that line. The owner told me it's to die for. It's so much nicer than DMC so she let me pick any color I wanted to try out. I'm suppose to try it out and go back and tell her how much I love it. It's made in Spain, and it is really nice and soft. She assured me that it doesn't like to knot up. So now to figure out what to try it out in.

Also since everyone else has been showing off their plants they are growing I took a picture of my green beans and tomatoes. (it's all I've planted so far wanting it to get a bit warmer)

Hope your enjoying your day!

Smurf & Tiger

Well I haven't been doing too much stitching. I've been in one of them I want to stitch but don't want to stitch anything i'm suppose to be working on right now, nor can I find a new project i'm just dying to start. So finally I sucked it up and worked on the Tiger yesterday. Managed to get a little bit done.

But I did take small breaks to work on a smurf pattern from Missy over at Dork Stitch. She's got a lot of old game patterns that she makes. But I saw this and decided he would be a nice and easy thing to take a break from the tiger. I stitched him on a light cornflower blue. But you can't see it in the picture. I also added shimmer to the border. I added the Brainy to the pattern and the border cuz I just didn't know what else to do with him.

Well hope all my readers are getting some stitching time in. Have a great day!
