Yummy!

I made one of the necklaces and have started on the butterfly stitch. But i'm only blogging tonight about this recipe I tried tonight out of the June 2010 Food Network magazine. It's just way too good to not share with you.

Italian Ice
Active: 10 mins Total: 2hrs 40mins
Makes: 4 cups

3 cups halved strawberries or chopped pinapple
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
3 cups ice

Blend the fruit, sugar, honey and lemon juice with 2 cups ice in a food processor or blender until chunky. Add another cup ice and blend until completely smooth.

Pour the mixture into a shallow baking dish and freeze 30 minutes. Scrape the ice with a fork until slushy, then freeze until firm, about 2 more hours. Serve.

I made mine with strawberries. It turned out so yummy!!!

Bad bad bad Cat

I was super bad today and went to JoAnn's and spent too much money! I'm usually pretty good when I go in there, but today was a different story....

I bought a ton of things. Mostly all stuff I needed. *wink*
I bought stuff to make a necklace for both Eleni and for Effie. Who is doing great. John talked to her for a little bit today.

The pink ribbon/pink beads is for Eleni and the butterfly/purple beads for Effie.

I also picked up this kit real cheap to do for Effie.

I also took a quick moment to go through the basket of ribbons but was in a hurry (didn't notice how long I had spent in the store and had to pick up dad) so I just grabbed four new ones. But here are all the ones I bought last time and today.

I also picked up a cute cat/dog stencil on the clearance shelf for 50 cents, some other beads on clearance and the thread colors I was missing for the ladybug needle book.

And lastly I bought a pillow and the fabric to go with my Love pattern i'm working on.

I think it goes with it really good. I started doing the white patchwork outline, and John said he didn't really like it. So now i'm kinda torn... should I stitch in the patchwork or just leave it off? I put a poll up. Help me decide!

Thanks

Thanks for the prayers for John's Aunt. She is doing great. She was up walking around just a little while after the surgery. And she gets to go home most likely tomorrow. The surgery even went better than the doctors thought. I found a couple things i'd like to stitch up for her. Just have to wait for them to arrive.

Last night I was messing around on the xbox and downloaded a game demo of diner dash. I wanted to check it out and I got addicted! I bought the game and played it for a couple hours! So I didn't get a ton stitching on my Love pillow. But here is my progress.

I did get a little mad at myself for not reading the directions. I was suppose to stitch with 4 threads for red and 2 threads for white. Oh well. It still looks good with 2 for the red. Hopefully I can stitch on it some more today. Hope everyone has a great day!

Getting my Mojo back

First and foremost... any of you that pray please say a pray today for John's Aunt Effie. She is having a tumor removed from her brain. We are sitting by the phone waiting to hear any news. Thank you!

Today I received my other two things I ordered from my birthday money from dad.

I got sick of losing my needle all the time so I got a needle minder. It's a cute kitty silhouette. I also ordered a Biscornu kit. I've never made one but I see you blogging/stitching friends making them from time to time and I want to try one. The fabric it came with is so pretty. It's 32 count Opalescent Raw Belfast Linen. I've never used linen or a count so high. Please share any words of encouragement, tips, or experiences on this count, using linen, or making biscourns! I'm kinda scared to try it.

I also went to JoAnn's yesterday for a quick minute. And it really was a quick minute because I came down with a migraine! I saw in the UK magazine I had gotten, an article about painting your fabric instead of dying it and I wanted to try it. So I bought a little bottle of fabric paint. (I just let John pick whatever color) I also got ladybug fabric to take a stab at making a needle/scissor book with that ladybug pattern I got. (think Emily is going to receive it, I know how much she loves ladybugs! *smiles*) Also right by the checkout they had huge baskets full of little spools of ribbon marked down! Man if my head hadn't been pounding so I could of sat there for a half hour just going through the two baskets. As it was I managed to grabbed a few that I thought were really cute.

Also John finally finished his video game! I have my tv back!!!! I still didn't know what to work on at that time so I started this.

It's from the UK magazine also. It's suppose to be a British Flag with the Love underneath.... but I decided I really liked the patchwork Love and i'm thinking of making it into a pillow. Didn't really see any fabric for the pillow while I was at JoAnn's yesterday so hopefully i'll find something I like.

Happy Stitching!
